Use of Color

This is a poster that became part of the website for Virgin Records.
It was done by Iconic over 2 12 hour "jam sessions". Virgin was said to be impressed by Ikonic's "process model".

As far as the use of color goes, what you see used is a 'split complementary color scheme'. This means that the artist used two colors on either side of one of the complements. The red-violet would normally be complimented by yellow green. However, green and a yellow was used instead. The same goes for blue, whose compliment would normally be orange. The artist used yellow orange and red orange instead.
